Who’s this guy?
Student
I’m concluding my studies in “Ingeniería en Informática” (something like computer science + engineering) at Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad Austral, Buenos Aires. It’s a five year engineering program. I also hold a title as “Programador Universitario de Aplicaciones” (application university programmer) from Universidad Nacional del Nordeste. It used to be a three year program in computer science, but now it’s been discontinued.
Consultant
Since 2006, I’ve been working as an IT Consultant at Soluciones & Emprendimientos (S&E). My duties include working with Oracle and MS SQL Server databases, integrating data for information support systems, developing Java and .Net solutions and implementing and customizing Digicard access control system.
T. A.
Since 2007 I’m a Teacher Assistant at the Department of Electronics at the Austral University. My duties in this job include not only teaching but also developing new assignements for the course and exploring new technologies.
During 2008 I’ve been teaching the 3rd Laboratory (in Software Engineering) for the Department of Informatics in the same university. In this job I also conducted a controlled experiment whose aim was comparing two different software development methodologies: the Rational Unified Process and SCRUM (an agile methodology). The results of this work are being analized in order to write and publish a paper.
My Interests
Neural Networks
Single Layer Perceptrons, Multilayer Perceptrons, Backpropagation, Kohonen Self Organizing Maps, Computational Neuroscience.
Localization
Monte Carlo Localization, Probabilistic Robotics in general.
Music
I play guitar since I was a child, but studied sistematically three years only from 2005 to 2007.
My Projects
Neural Networks
Adaptive Pong: The aim of this project is to build a Pong game that learns to play the same way his human opponent. The challenge is to make the AI learn as the game progresses. The project is now suspended until I finish my undergraduate final project. Currently, I have a working Pong game that learns human playing offline using a Kohonen Self Organizing Map.
Localization
I’m developing an Indoor Localization System using ZigBee technology and Monte Carlo Localization. The challenge is to determine some object location based on very noisy information (ZigBee receive signal strength indicator).

A great article that shows the information learned by each neuron after learning.

A “must have” book.

Localization
Probabilistic Robotics – Sebastian Thrun, Wolfram Burgard and Dieter Fox
A nice book for the subject
Projects at the RSE-lab
In the recent years several localization projects has been developed at the Robotics and State Estimation Lab, University of Washington, mostly using WiFi and GPS sensors data.
